Where to find us in person
We take a stand at home shows across Vancouver Island and the mainland, which is the easiest way to talk to a Build Specialist without driving to Cobble Hill.
Current show schedule. The plant at Cobble Hill is also open to visitors year round, and watching panels come off the line explains more than any conversation. Arrange a tour.
Awards, tests and projects
East Kootenay Haven takes two Georgie Awards
The Georgie Awards are the British Columbia home builders' industry awards, judged on design and construction quality. A project built with a Pacific Homes package took two of them.
A second project, a 30,000 square foot care facility in Smithers, received an Award of Excellence. Ptarmigan Meadows.
A completed house tested against the BC Energy Step Code
Enertech Solutions ran a blower door test on a finished Pacific Homes package at Shawnigan Lake, built with 2x8 SmartWalls. It reached Step 4, recording 1.12 air changes per hour, with the heat loss traced mostly to light fixtures rather than to the walls.
Enertech stated that lowering the ACH to 1.0 and upgrading to triple glazing would put the same house in Step 5. The full result.
SmartWall seismic tested at the University of British Columbia
With support from FPInnovations, the SmartWall was compared against conventional wood walls under earthquake loading and performed significantly better. On a company selling into British Columbia, Washington and Alaska, that matters as much as any energy number. The test report.
A package delivered to Chile
South America joins Japan, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Korea on the list of places a Pacific Homes package has been assembled. Four continents beyond North America, all shipped from a plant on Vancouver Island. How delivery works.
Joining the All-Fab Group
Pacific Homes, Pacific Truss and Truline Truss became part of the All-Fab Group, extending reach to clients across Canada. Design, estimating, engineering and manufacturing all remain at Cobble Hill. The full history.
Reconstruction work, and the Yuriage market
The first Pacific crossing went to Japan in 1989, and the relationship has continued since, including reconstruction work in the years after the 2011 tsunami and a completed public market at Yuriage.
91 Chapel goes up in downtown Nanaimo
Engineered floors, walls and trusses for a west coast contemporary condo development, shipping from Cobble Hill from February and close to erected within a couple of months. Designed by de Hoog & Kierulf Architects and built by Island West Coast Developments. Commercial building packages.
Ken McKinnon, 1925 to 2017
The founder of Pacific Builders’ Supplies, Pacific Truss and Pacific Homes died on June 10, 2017, aged 92. His life, and his sons’ eulogy.
Dakova Square, Duncan: four storeys, delivered floor by floor
Thirty-six one and two bedroom homes in the heart of downtown Duncan. The package covered walls, floors, trusses, windows, doors and siding, with each storey delivered as the one below was closed in. The project.
Fire resistant sheathing holds in a Calgary condo fire
A three-alarm fire at a McKenzie Towne construction site was contained with the help of fire retardant materials, the Calgary Fire Department said, and the sheathing on that site was PinkWood PK Fireboard. What happened, and what it means for a package.
The plant is open, and so is the schedule.
Meet us at a home show, or walk the facility at Cobble Hill. Either beats reading about it, and design, estimating and engineering are included in the package rather than billed separately.
