Building houses in the Cowichan Valley since 1959
Trusses, wall panels and engineered components, made indoors at Cobble Hill and shipped to sites from Vancouver Island to Alaska. We publish what the jobs pay.
Two openings at Cobble Hill
Both are on the floor rather than behind a desk, and both have a path into more senior work. Applications go through Indeed.

The parts that are not the hourly rate
The work itself is a genuine trade education: engineered wood products, truss assembly and panel manufacturing are transferable across residential and commercial construction.
House Awards
Every month, people across the company vote for colleagues who have made a real contribution to the community and to how the place runs. Two names are drawn and each gets a gift card of their choice. It is the small, regular version of being noticed, and it is the part of working here people mention first.
HOUSE stands for Honest, Outstanding, Unique, Super Employee. AWARD is what a winner has shown beyond their daily routine.
- AAwarded for going above and beyond
- WWork standards
- AAssisting others
- RReliability
- DDedicated customer service, and safety excellence
Larger events mark the bigger milestones, such as sixty years of the company and the statutory holidays. Freezies on a hot day and a gift card on a birthday are the everyday version.
Seven teams, one site
People are the main ingredient in any company’s formula, and ours have made it happen for more than sixty years. Every team below works from the Cobble Hill site, and openings come up across all of them.
Project Coordinators
Takeoffs, purchasing, receiving, warehousing, material handling and expediting of building packages. The link between salespeople, vendors and customers on every project.
Design
Detailing engineered floors, walls and trusses, and turning blueprints into the working drawings the plant builds from.
Production
The daily work of the wall and truss plants. Carpentry or framing experience is preferred, and the right candidates are trained.
Yard
Safe loading and unloading, crating and packaging product for shipping, and keeping the yard organised. Powered lift equipment throughout.
Sales and Marketing
Building continued partnerships with builders, owner builders and industry professionals in residential and commercial construction.
Maintenance
Installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment. If you are a jack of all trades, this is the team.
Office
General office management, phones, client contact, records and data, and the variety of tasks that keep the rest of the site moving.

A family company, in the same valley since 1959.
Ken McKinnon started with a building supply store in the Cowichan Valley, added truss manufacturing in 1969 and launched Pacific Homes in 1981. The company has operated from the same site throughout.
The work has been recognised too: projects built with our packages have taken two Georgie Awards and an Award of Excellence.
We support the community we are in and the ones we ship to. The full history, or see the plant.
Get in touch anyway.
Openings come up across production, operations, design and sales, and they do not always reach the job boards first. If you are local to the Cowichan Valley and interested in the work, say so.
