Why the name moved
Pacific Building Systems was established in 2006 as a corporate umbrella covering the Pacific Group divisions. By early 2012 both building divisions had grown enough that sheltering them under a holding company was working against them rather than for them.
Customers were looking for a home builder or a truss supplier, not a corporate structure. So Pacific Homes and Pacific Truss moved to the front, each with its own site. The group has been building here since 1959, and the service, value and quality that came with the old name came with them.
About the name
Yes. Pacific Building Systems was established in 2006 as the corporate umbrella covering the Pacific Group divisions. In early 2012 the building divisions moved to the front, and they now operate as Pacific Homes for custom prefabricated home packages and Pacific Truss for roof trusses, floor systems and engineered components. Same people, same facility in Cobble Hill, same phone numbers.
Pacific Homes if you are building a house and want a complete package: design, engineering, wall panels, trusses and components delivered to your lot. Pacific Truss if you need trusses, floor systems or engineered components supplied on their own, whether for a build, a renovation or a commercial project.
Yes. The phone numbers are unchanged, the facility is the same one at Cobble Hill on Vancouver Island, and existing accounts carried over. If you have dealt with us under the Pacific Building Systems name, nothing about that relationship has changed.
Growth. By 2012 both building divisions were substantial enough that operating them under a corporate umbrella was holding them back rather than helping. Customers were looking for a home builder or a truss supplier, not a holding company, so the divisions took the front.
